Our Apothecary is composed of wild-crafted, meticulously fragranced, and ethically made products to honor your body and home. We aim to continuously source pristine and wholesome materials for our candles, leather goods, and body care. Our formulas are one-of-kind blends of plant oils, waxes, absolutes, and tinctures, which are all carefully handcrafted to order so they are received at peak quality. They are each a product of our devotion to making vibrant and potent creations. Our leather goods are provided in both vegan and top-quality leather options. Every item is blended or forged by hand—one by one. We craft tools, not trinkets. Meant to be used. Meant to last.
Sigil Apothecary's roots are within upstate New York. Our founder, Briana, grew up in rural Schoharie county and spent much of her early years developing a love for the flora and fauna that surrounded her. Her skills and respect for organic practices and sustainability blossomed as she served as the Assistant Farm Manager of Skyhill Farm and Falling Water Permaculture Center. As her career into medicine and laboratory research develops, she continues to hone her skills as a caretaker and a scientist, applying them in every way she can to creating a happier and healthier life for those around her.
We aim to manifest the happiness and well-being of the individuals, communities, and environment that has so lovingly supported us, and that we seek to support in turn.
Our Materials
Sigil Apothecary aims to use top quality and ethically sourced ingredients. Eco-friendliness, ingredient transparency, and pure formulations are a must.
Our Leather
Our leather goods are available in two formats: a sustainable cactus-based vegan leather, and a premium vegetable-tanned leather from the esteemed Badalassi Carlo Tannery in Tuscany, Italy. Both are selected for their durability, beauty, and alignment with our values of intentional crafts
Our Wax
Our candles are made of a vegan blend of natural apricot and coconut, and a miniscule amount of highly refined food-grade paraffin wax. It burns slowly, cleanly, and throws scent extremely well. Our blend is gluten free, toxin free, paraben free, phthalate free, and comes from renewable sources. The entire blend utilizes only FDA approved waxes.
Our Fragrance
We used only phthalate free fragrance oils, personally blended by Sigil Apothecary and created using fine fragrance oils + pure essential oils
Our Packaging
While some items must be packaged thoroughly to avoid any damage, we do our best to keep it minimal and mindful. We always aim to use recycled products and thoughtfully repurpose supplies from our own incoming shipments when packing orders.
Our Wicks
We use only wooden wicks in our candles as they are more sustainable, natural, and eco-friendly than the commonly used zinc-infused cotton wicks. All our wicks have been sourced from FSC certified mills and manufactured in the USA. Additionally, wooden wicks diffuse heat more rapidly into the wax, releasing fragrance into your home more rapidly!
